Quinn Humphreys
Quinn is an artist from Southeast England, specialising in photography, moving image, and sound-based installation pieces. His first long-form project "Spared From Restless Dreams" documents a personal journey through Europe, exploring ideas of identity and borders.
He has previously collaborated with Magnum photographer David Hurn and continues to work with Simon Roberts, designing and installing gallery pieces as well as video-based work for exhibitions such as the Brighton Photo Fringe and Photoworks.
Tempelhof Airport, Berlin: The rooftop bar of the National Socialist party, converted into a basketball court after the allied occupation of the city wherein the airport became a US airforce base.
Ilgen Ski Lift, Germany: A wrong turn down a country road led to this isolated ski lift with no signs of life other than the freshly oiled skidoo.
Ammer Mountains, Germany: This long road at the base of the Ammer mountains leads to Neuschwanstein Castle, the famed home of Ludvig II of Bavaria. It's the template for many of Disney's fantasy castles and continues of overlook the town of Füssen to this day.
