Mounir Derbal was born in Rome in 1997, he began with a 4-year training in Roman theater, within the theatrical workshops Carrozzerie N.o.t. and with performances in the circuit of the Theatre of Rome. He began collaborating with productions of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and Entertainment Sciences at La Sapienza. After a year he moved to London to undertake a bachelor’s degree in Digital Film Production at Ravensbourne University, finishing the cycle this year. During the course he experimented in numerous productions where he followed the writing and directing part, he recently completed his fifth short film entitled "The Moon Carrier", currently under development for a theatre adaptation in London. His previous shorts were selected in international festivals and won an award for best screenplay. He also worked as a media content creator for the London Short film Festival and the BFI Film Festival in 2019.
