Matthew Davies is a 2D artist with a focus on pre-production. He loves to explore narrative and story through environments and character in a stylised manner, using shape and colour to suggest mood and emotion. Working in digital software like Photoshop and Clip Paint Studio gives him the physically rewarding feeling of drawing while also giving access to the flexibility and efficiency that a digital workflow offers. His primary inspiration for my work is the planet that we live on. The environments that so many organisms inhabit are as beautiful as they are varied and it's something he loves to explore in his work. Telling stories that stay true to the reality of the world while being outlandish and unusual is important to him. Matthew is interested in working in all areas of animation and visual content development, whether it's Film, TV or online.
