James Huthwaite

James Huthwaite is a camera assistant and aspiring cinematographer who has hopes of working on short dramas, music videos and experimental films. Having worked on many projects throughout his studies at Ravensbourne, he has gained a good insight into the film and TV industry but has found himself to excel the most when in the camera department.

In his work James has sought to collaborate with like-minded people who strive to create new and modern content. He has worked with a range of people, both at Ravensbourne and outside university, to create SNAKEBITE, a vignette into the copings of grief, told through expressive and abstract imagery and storytelling.

Throughout SNAKEBITE James focused on the composition, framing and use of motivational lighting, to help augment the message within the narrative. Being able to empathise with the projects central theme of grief and people’s experiences with it he was able to realise the bigger picture of the film.
