Finley likes storytelling, creativity, using his intuition and working within a team. During his time at Ravensbourne he has had the opportunity to explore these areas through a range of mediums with a particular focus on video editing.

He realised early on that he had a passion for editing, and had been inspired by many great editors including Walter Murch, Tom Cross, Barry Alexander Brown and Jennifer Lame. Learning about their stories and understanding how they found their way into editing and film production greatly helped his process.

Finley has worked on a number of student and professional films, social media content and music videos. He has an acting background and this has helped him develop strong editing skills as he is able to pick out the best takes and create the correct flow for the story. He has also started to develop his skills in VFX and colour grading, with some of this work making its way onto YouTube channels such as GRM Daily.

Going forward he would like to continue working as an editor and further develop his knowledge and skills in a range of different mediums and industries.
