Charlie Carroll
Charlie is a sound designer, composer/music producer and sonic artist based in London. His main areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: sound design and composition for film, TV and games, plug-in programming, mixing and hardware and software development. He plays alto saxophone and synth in James Alexander Bright’s band. He has played in multiple venues in the UK including the Jazz Cafe in Camden.
I have created a gallery installation project that features a gently moving image of 17279 in its bucolic surroundings, projected onto the gallery wall to accompany the soundscape being played within the space.
These are a selection of the sounds I recorded and used to create the Unheard atmosphere. ‘CON’ means it was recorded with my contact mics, most of these were recorded from the support cable of the telegraph pole. The two that aren’t from the support cable are ‘CON BARLEY FIELD’ & ‘CON TREE RAIN’. ‘EMF’ means it was recorded with my homemade electromagnetic coil microphones.
