Sri Lanka Trip 2019

For the last three years we have taken students to visit MAS in Sri Lanka 'the world's most sustainable factory'  over the course of a week students visit textile mills, dye houses and manufacturing facilities. The focus of the trip is to understand the complexity of the supply chain and where sustainable actions are most important.

Rachael Shodijo and Angus Gaffney, year 2 students were selected to complete a fully funded 2 week internship in Bangladesh with Hamid Fabrics Ltd. The focus of the trip was to understand textile dyeing and production and the roll of the textile mill in the supply chain.

“The trip has been hugely informative about the global supply chain. Sitting with industry professional’s for ten days has answered many questions I didn’t know needed answering. Also being able to walk around the factory environment and see each machine working was a great bonus.”
