Celebrated student work from the year
Celebrated Work
Digital Television technology students work a number of broadcasting related projects. They are the engineers behind the media transmission either through conventional means for TV broadcast or through streaming for NetFlix, Amazon Prime, YouTube etc.
Students develop an understanding of TV studio operations along with electronics and broadcasting.
Following 4 students worked on some very interesting projects as part of their FMP:
Jack price
Worked on a project “Remote Triggered Camera Rig with Network Connectivity”, Creating New Possibilities for Wildlife Filmmaking.Focuses on camera solutions, network strategies, remote triggering, housing build/design, and wildlife market research.
The project was not completed due to Covid situation and students had to rely on desk research for a later part of the project.
James Luggar
Worked on Language Detection within different tracks within a package. The only way you can tell if audio tracks are on the wrong channel is through QC picking it up during
screenings and even this can sometimes be missed if the audio mix does not make it obvious.“
Connor Wright
Conducted desk research in development of 8K for transmission over the air and also for streaming on the internet.
Chloe Kelly
Researched the uses and Implementation of Virtual and Augmented Reality within broadcasting.Evaluated the StarTracker system for motion capture.
